City extends water disruption in Mission District

The city has informed businesses along the Mission Districts “restaurant row” that water disruptions will continue into the weekend as crews try to repair a water valve in the area.
For that reason, several restaurants in the neighbourhood will be forced to close while crews do work between 8AM-6PM on Saturday and possibly Sunday as well.
Shawn Lukacsy is one of the managers at Earls Restaurant on 4th Street and tells 660News he understands the repairs have to made.
“We actually spoke to the other restaurants around 4th Street and they decided to go with the weekend. So water disruption within a restaurant means we do have to close our doors for sanitary purposes,” says Lukacsy
He says he wishes the city could have done the repairs in the overnight so service wouldn’t be affected.
Lukacsy has told his staff to come into work anyway’s and they will still receive their hourly wages.
