Pedaling biker inspires epileptic community

A Florida man who’s son was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of two is taking his message around the world.

Glenn Fenster is pedaling his bike more than 13-thousand km, meeting with parents in different communities and talking about the challenges of raising a child who has seizures.

Fenster has encountered tornadoes, snow, headwinds and flooding on his journeys.

He tells 660News what keeps him going, “Somewhere today a mom is going to wake up, see their child have that first seizure.  I know that day, the panic, the rush to the hospital and hearing the neurologist say your in for a long haul and still feel,
‘I must do these rides not to let that family down.'”

Fenster says he wants to show his son and others, that epilepsy should not prevent them from reaching their goals.

On Thursday, Fenster arrived in Calgary for an event hosted by The Epilepsy Association of Calgary.

About 50 million people world-wide suffer from the common neurological disorder.
