Calgary drivers respond to incoming distracted driving legislation

We can circle the September 1st as the official day talking or texting on our cell phones while driving becomes illegal.

660News asked northeast drivers if the $172 fine for distracted driving is justified.

The most common response was that while they use their phones while behind the wheel, the new law would make the roads safer.

Meanwhile, one man said while the new law may have benefits, the government has gone too far with the stiff fine.
