Strathmore man arrested for alleged drowning

A father has been arrested after police allege he tried to drown his child Friday afternoon.
Strathmore RCMP say the heavily intoxicated man ran into Kinsman Lake with his infant daughter and appeared to be drowning her.
Witnesses say, a friend of the man ran into the water and took the little girl away rom her father.
Police found the man sitting near the lake and arrested him.
Both were taken to the hospital and have since been released.
Witnesses say they could not tell if he was purposely trying to drown her or in his drunken condition thought he was giving her a bath.
The little girl is in custody of child and family services
