The Alberta Energy Resources Conservation Board is investigating an explosion and leak from a pipeline, in northwestern Alberta.
The rupture happened Sunday, at a Pengrowth Energy Facility near Swan Hills.
An unconfirmed amount of light, sweet crude oil spilled into Judy Creek and surrounding area.
ERBC spokesperson Darin Barter tells 660News, the fire has been put out and the pipeline was shut down.
He says the company contained the spill and “all the right steps have been taken”.
No one was injured and there is no confirmed impact on wildlife.
Pengrowth has placed booms and absorbent material in the creek and is using vacuum trucks and collection tanks to clean up the site.
