Firefighters spent hours clearing a burnt-out garage in West Hillhurst Monday morning, after they were called in to douse the flames.
Crews arrived to the 2400 block of 4th Ave. N.W. just after 1:00 a.m., and put the fire out quickly.
Since it was a rented garage full of stored goods, firefighters had to pull each item out one by one wearing full protective gear.
The Hazardous Materials Team was also on site to make sure the contaminated runoff from the firefighting efforts was contained.
