What concerns Calgarians?

A new survey conducted by the City of Calgary and the United Way has turned up some surprising results when it comes to the biggest concerns of Calgarians.

Called Signposts, the survey points to three things that are top of mind for people in our city, regardless of where they live.

“The top issues of concern for Calgarians as a whole are being stressed, not saving enough money for the future and lacking sleep,” the United Way’s Charla Vall tells 660News. “Over 60 per cent of Calgarians report being stressed. That’s actually the number one issue of concern that was reported. The second top concern is not saving enough money for the future and the third was lacking sleep.”

Now that those concerns have been identified, Val says programs and policies can be explored looking into “which policies we are looking to change, which policies need to change, which practices need to change and which institutions we need to partner with to make those changes happen.”

One positive result that stood out in the survey was that over 90 per cent of us feel Calgary is both a great and safe place to live.
