Experience a day trip around Drumheller

Do you need to get away for the day?
If you haven’t taken the 90-minute trip to Drumheller, you’re missing out on the world’s largest dinosaur.
Once you arrive, you will be greeted by the towering sculpture of a Tyrannosaurus Rex near the city’s visitor information site.
Staying with the dinosaur theme, take the Dinosaur Trail while heading out to one of the world’s best paleontology museums.
The Royal Tyrrell Museum attracts over 400,000 visitors a year and will keep the kids enertained for at least a few hours.
While traveling on the Dinosaur Trail, enjoy a spectacular view of the Midland Provincial Park, a combination of coal mining history and riverside greenery.
Across the road, you will find McMullen Island, a nice picnic spot where an oasis lies in the otherwise parched Badlands.
Watch history melt before your eyes during the south part of the trail.
Just off the main road is Horsethief Canyon, where you will see ancient forms of life preserved in the large fossilized rock, a 67-million-year-old legacy of a sea that once covered the area.
As the roller coaster route leaves the river flats, make sure to stop at the magnificant Orkney Hill Viewpoint.
