Uptown Music Series on 17th Avenue

Amid the weekend hustle and bustle along the trendy 17th Avenue, you can take a load off, pull up a chair and enjoy the sounds of the Uptown Market Series.
The event takes place every Saturday until September 10th and with the warm weather this weekend, people are out and about around the downtown.
Tomkins Park, hidden along 17th Ave at 8th St southwest is the home to the series put on by the business owners in the area, hoping to shed positive light on the area.
The free summer event will have something for everyone including live music, local vendors, and events for the kids and showcases some of Calgary’s musical talent.
Organizer for the event Jennifer Rempel, tells 660News, the event has a daytime and nighttime program, which offers a family friendly environment and something for everyone.
Mona, who lives in the neighbourhood, says it’s such a treat to have the series close to home.
“17th is always busy and this will just bring more people down here,” she said.
The weekly night music series begins at 9:15pm and everyone is welcome.
