Winds whipping up to 95 kilometres an hour have wreaked havoc across the city.
Fire crews were called out to a number of incidents, including one where a tree fell onto a vehicle on 50th Street in the city’s southwest.
No one was injured.
Battalion chief Al Magwood tells 660News, they were slammed over the hour.
“We got between 30 and 40 calls in about a one hour period related to the wind,” he says. “Most of it was flying debris, you know minor stuff and a couple of trees down.
He says debris was blowing across the city, but most of the damage was done in the northwest.
The wind has since died down, and a severe thunderstorm watch for the city has been lifted.
