Paramedic dies

Calgary’s emergency services community is mourning one of their own.

59-year-old paramedic Eric Arnestad was killed Friday in a motorcycle crash in Montana.

The Calgary Sun reports the long-time member of Calgary EMS and a pioneer of STARS air ambulance had contracted Hepatitis C on the job and needed a liver transplant.

He’d been planning a cross country ride next month to raise awareness about the disease.
