How Calgary copes with the heat

It’s one of the hottest days of the year in Calgary, and could be the hottest if it reaches the high of 27 degrees.

Lisa looks quite relaxed in this heat, as she dangles her feet into the shallow outdoor pool at Eau Claire Market.

“It’s a relief.  Thank goodness we don’t have as much rain as before, so it’s nice,” says Lisa.

While taking a dip is a great way to cool off, one cyclist tells 660News, catching some wind on your face seems to be another popular avenue for relief.

“We were impressed with how crowded the bike path was actually.  I’ve never seen it that full,” she says.

Others like Emit came down with their children so they could cool off in the pool. Emit’s daughter, Macy, says keeping the right temperature is a balancing act.

“We’re just in the shade there, and we’re going back in the pool on and off,” says Macy.
