Consumer confidence up for a fourth straight month

An increasing number of Canadians are thinking about making big-ticket purchases, according to the latest TNS consumer survey.

The numbers show for the fourth straight month, consumer confidence is up.

However, not everything is rosy.

When asked to share their views about economic activity six months out, most people expressed concern about high gas prices and stock market volatility.

TNS Vice President Norman Baillie-David says while there are signs of improving economic conditions, there is still a feeling that we are not out of the woods just yet.
