How the international press likes Calgary

As the royal tour starts to wind down and the Duke and Duchess prepare to leave for Los Angeles close to 100 reporters will continue to follow their every move.

They’ve seen several regions of this country and the different cultures it has to offer.

Photographer with the Sun newspaper in the U.K., Author Edwards, has made a career of following the royals in the past 30 years.

660News asked him what he thinks of the city.

“It’s really a super place, with a great welcome.  I’ve got my cowboy hat here and I’m all ready for the Stampede, and I’m really excited about it,” said Edwards.

He said this is his third trip to Calgary, but his first Stampede.

Royal biographer Penny Juno arrived Tuesday ahead of the royal couple, and said her first impressions of the city were fantastic.

“It’s absolutely lovely as my first visit here; incredibly friendly people.  That was my first impression,” said Juno.

She added she’s sure the royals have had a great time.
