Calgary still tops for parking rates

Calgary continues to lead the country in monthly parking rates despite a slight decline over the past year.
According to the Parking Rate Survey from Colliers International, Calgary also placed second in North America, trailing only New York.
Calgary’s monthly unreserved median rate in 2010 was $453.38 CAD. That’s almost $120 more than the second most expensive Canadian city, Toronto.
Calgary’s rate actually fell by 1.4 per cent, while the biggest spike in the country was in Vancouver which had a jump of 19 per cent.
Despite the huge spike, Vancouver’s median monthly rate was $266.81; nearly $200 less than Calgary.
Calgary is 17th in the world in monthly rates. London, England leads the pack at nearly $1000 CAD, followed by Hong Kong and Tokyo.
No other Canadian city cracks the top-25 list.
