Stoney First Nation assault

Three people were seriously injured after an early morning incident on the Stoney First Nation.

Cochrane RCMP say there were initial reports that indicated two women and one man had been assaulted by a man brandishing a machete and a rifle.

Police arrested a 47 year old Morley man who faces several charges including aggravated assault.

The three people who were injured were taken to hospital and received treatment for serious but non life threatening injuries.

The name of the suspect is not being released at this time.
