Geyser causes significant damage to home

A geyser-like watermain break is giving firefighters, the city’s water department and one resident in the N.E. community of Rundle all they can handle.
Crews responded to a home in the 4000 block of Rundlehorn Drive N.E. shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday to find the water literally gushing out of the ground.
Pictures sent in by 660News listener Melody show the geyser acting like a pressure washer up against the house, shooting the water into a side wall and it appears it may have damaged part of the roof as well.
The volume and pressure of water was staggering as people stood and watched in disbelief as their neighbors garage was ripped apart by the water.
The Fire Department’s Brian McAsey tells 660News they are using pumps, water vacs and squeegees to try and contain the water which was finally shut off shortly before 7 p.m.
The watermain is a 24-inch concrete line.
