Stage is set for rodeo championship Sunday

The last weekend of Stampede is here with rodeo’s biggest and most anticipated event, the Sunday Showdown!
Saturday is dubbed “Wildcard Saturday” with 12 competitors fighting for the last two spots in the rodeo’s championship event.
Holding on to a bucking bronc for a full eight seconds seems sufficient enough, but not for the rodeo judges.
They’re looking for specifics in both cowboy and animal to earn the top prize, including control of the animal and how high the animal kicks.
With over a million dollars to be given away, athletes are competing for big checks and for the first time this year, the top six rodeo athletes will earn an automatic spot in the Stampede centennial.
