Big payday for Calgary poker champ

Calgary’s poker champion has brought home more than $500,000 after making it to the top 11 of what’s considered the Stanley Cup of poker.
Khoa Nguyen went further than any other Calgarian has at the World Series of Poker, but he tells The Calgary Sun it’s disappointing to not make the final nine.
Those are the players who go on to the main event where nearly $9-million in prizes are up for grabs.
Last year, Quebec’s Jonathan Duhamel made headlines becoming the first Canuck to win it all.
