Fire crews saved a dog from a fire in an apartment on Brittany Drive Saturday.

The blaze broke out in a 12th floor apartment at 248 Brittany Drive shortly before 9 p.m.

Crews were able to quickly douse the flames, which were believed to have been sparked by a cigarette that wasn’t properly butted out.

The dog was not hurt.

There was roughly $100,000 of damage to the apartment.
