New Olympic Medals unveiled

A spectacular ceremony is marking exactly one year, until the 2012 London Games.
Olympic officials, the mayor of London, and English Prime Minister David Cameron are part of the ceremony.
Speaking to a crowd of thousands Prime Minister David Cameron says all the Olympic facilities have been completed and soon it will be London’s time to shine.
The Olympic medals have also been unveiled
Designed by British artist David Watkins the Olympic medals disk circular form is a metaphor for the world. Watkins says the front of the medal always depicts the same imagery at the summer games – the Greek Goddess of sport – ‘Nike’ – stepping out of the depiction of the Parthenon and arriving in London.
