Fringe Fest kicks off Friday

Calgary’s summer of festivals continues with the 6th annual Fringe Festival kicking off in Inglewood Friday.

Ten thousand people took in fringe theatre at the festival last year, and the fringe is getting bigger.

Festival Director Michele Gallant says fans can take in 34 local, national and international acts at ten different venues.

“All of our artists are selected by a lottery draw, so because of that it’s uncensored, unbiased theatre, which basically means anything goes.  You can see anything from children’s shows all the way up to risque adult shows,” says Gallant.
