Canadians going back-to-school shopping online

More Canadians than ever are heading online for their back-to-school shopping, according to a new Visa survey.
Visa’s Stephanie Wallat tells 660News, 29 per cent of Canadians are hitting the web to shop.
“We found that the overall amount of money spent both in-store and online was down a little bit this year, but the online amount was up,” Wallat explains.
She says many people won’t brave the long lines if they don’t have to.
“They’re becoming more comfortable shopping online, and taking advantage of the convenience.”
In the prairies, people will spend an average of $190 online, and about $370 in total on back-to-school supplies before Labour Day.
