Long weekend drivers well-behaved

Alberta drivers are being applauded for a job well done this holiday weekend, with police saying people were driving more carefully than in years passed.
S/Sgt. Jamie Johnston tells 660News, there was only one fatal collision this year, compared with three last year over the course of the same weekend.
“Overall, given the weather and the volume of people taking advantage of what the province has to offer and all of the events that happen on the August long weekend, it was very well done by the drivers of Alberta,” says S/Sgt. Johnston.
He credits increased police presence on the roads since the RCMP and Alberta Sheriffs integrated into one traffic unit.
