Calgary man charged for stealing beers

A Calgary man has been handed jail time for stealing two beers from a couple in Riley Park.

The incident happened in January of 2009, when Phillippe West and a friend — both very drunk — robbed a couple of two beers they were drinking in broad daylight.

West also beat up the victims in the heist.

He’ll face another year of probation, attend counselling and treatment programs and must stay away from liquor and drugs.
