Firefighters find 8-ft python

Some members of the Calgary Fire Department will have another story to share with their grandchildren.
Six members responded to a call at a building on Ranch Glen Drive N.W. after reports of an abandoned animal.
When they arrived they found an eight-foot long python in the bathtub of an empty suite with water running.
The Fire Department’s Brian McAsey tells 660News the crew handled the situation like pros: they picked up the snake, loaded it in a truck, and delivered it to local vet.
McAsey says he just got in touch with the owner and will reunite him with his snake.
He says it appears the owner had left the snake in the suite with food while he got settled in a new residence. Apparently, someone had heard the water running in the suite and raised concerns to the landlord, who knew no one was supposed to be there.
According to McAsey, the owner says the snake turned the water on.
