Drunk driver avoids jail again

A 25-year-old woman who avoided jail two months ago for impaired driving causing the death of her boyfriend has evaded jail time after getting caught driving drunk in Calgary.

Dominika Duris pleaded guilty to having a blood-alcohol level of at least 1.5 times the legal limit after she was pulled over in the northwest in June of 2009.

She was fined $2,300 and can’t drive for one year, concurrent with the five-year ban given by an Ontario court.

Duris was also handed down a conditional jail sentence of two years less a day to be served in the community for killing former boyfriend, 20-year-old Cory Lockyer.
