Stolen property found thanks to GPS

An expensive piece of arborist equipment with a GPS tracker on it led police in Airdrie to a cache of stolen property earlier this week.
The equipment was stolen from the Leduc area. On Monday, officers called the Airdrie detachment to tell them the GPS was stationery at a rural location near Balzac.
Constable Robert Frizzell tells 660News, they seized around $500,000 worth of stolen property.
“Structure equipment, landscaping items like lawnmowers, quads, golf carts, hand tools, fork lifts, and even a specific tool I’m told that just pulls out the stump of a tree,” he says.
Police think the man who’s facing charges intended to sell the equipment.
