Next premier could drop $15 ticket fee

An impending provincial search fee is threatening to put a strain on police agencies and cities is getting a thumbs down from a majority of Tory leadership hopefuls.
The Calgary Herald reports at least four of the six contenders for the premier’s chair have dismissed the $15 ticket fee, saying it’s harmful to crime fighting. The other two couldn’t be reached.
But that doesn’t mean we won’t see it at all, with the current Tory government still implementing the fee September 1st.
A new premier won’t come in to remove it until late September or October.
