Globalfest 2011 kicks off

The 9th annual Globalfest kicks off with a bang Friday night, as a Chinese-themed fireworks festival takes to the sky.
The five-night festival in Elliston Park boasts 20 cultural pavilions, a dozen ethnic food booths, three stages, an international cafe and bar, and a kiddie’s korral.
Globalfest tickets are available at all Calgary Co-op customer service offices, Marlborough Mall, Alberta London Drugs locations, and at the on-site box office on 17th Avenue and 60th St. N.E.
