Pedestrian dies after being struck by a car

Calgary Police say a man who was struck by a car Sunday morning has died.
The incident took place at 9:48 am at the intersection of 20 Avenue and 18 Street northwest.
A Toyota Camry driven by an 83-year old man hit a 62-year old man as he was crossing a marked crosswalk.
Duty Inspector Geoff Gawlinski says the man was taken to Foothills hospital where he was pronounced dead later that afternoon.
He adds, the driver was not injured and neither speed nor alcohol appear to be a factor.
