Stranding Calgary CEOs for STARS

Five of Calgary’s most prominent businessmen will soon be stranded, in hopes of raising money for STARS Air Ambulance.
It’s part of the first ever CEO Rescue in the Rockies, where the men will be airlifted to a Kananaskis Country mountaintop and left in the wild.
Their only hope of rescue is to call friends, family and colleagues from their remote location and raise $100,000 for STARS.
President and CEO of Altacorp Capital Inc., George Gosbee, will be taking part and is excited to do something different to help give back to the community.
He tells The Calgary Sun he will be armed with two Blackberrys and a secret strategy.
Gosbee hopes to raise $200,000.
The businessman adds it’s an important service in Alberta, especially for those in the oil and gas industry working in remote areas of the province.
STARS depends on help from the community to keep its helicopters in the air.
Others taking part in the challenge include: Bill McCaffrey, president and CEO of Meg Energy; Kevin Neveu, president and CEO of Precision Drilling Corp.; Craig Stewart, executive chairman of RMP Energy; and Don MacDonald, chairman of Sanjel Corp.
