Vandals target Airdrie-area church

Mounties are looking for a group that vandalized a church under construction near Airdrie.

They smashed the glass doors of the St. Mina Coptic Orthodox Church; once inside they damaged drywall and tipped over construction equipment, causing about $25,000 damage.

RCMP Const. Robert Frizzell tells The Calgary Sun the break-in isn’t being considered a hate crime.

He says there was likely more than one person because of the considerable weight of some of the equipment that was toppled over.
