Calgary Hitmen training camp begins

Over 70 prospects will be on hand Friday for the start of Calgary Hitmen training camp.
The top rookies will advance to main camp, which opens Sunday with registration and fitness testing.
Hitmen GM Kelly Kisio tells 660News this is a great chance for the club to get the right youth/veteran mix, something he says lacked last season.
“Last year was a product of some success we had in the last two or three years,” Kisio says.
“Before that, we had to make some moves and sell-off some younger guys to bring in older guys for runs to the championships. Now we’re trying to feed our team to get back up to the top.”
All sessions are open to the public at Don Hartman Sportsplex in the city’s northeast. The annual Hitmen intra-squad game goes August 31st.
