Households across the city are hopping, as Calgary public and Catholic students go back to school Thursday.
The Stroeder family lives along Shawbrook Manor in the southwest; their home was bustling with activity, with five children ranging in age from three to 14.
Mom and dad, Terry and Russ, tell 660News it can be a nuthouse at times, but they try to roll with the punches.
“Some mornings it can be a challenge. The two older ones are pretty good. They get up by themselves and get their lunches made on their own, but the younger ones are sometimes a challenge,” says Russ.
The normal wake-up call to get all the kids up and ready for school is 7:00 a.m. which may be a shock, since the kids usually sleep in until 10:00 a.m. during the summer.
