A Calgary police officer has been found not-guilty of criminal charges for using a taser on a senior.
The 74-year-old man, who was hard of hearing and had a thick accent, was tasered after he was pulled over in a routine traffic stop two years ago.
Court heard the officer, who’s been on the force for seven years, pulled out the device after a physical struggle broke out between the two in a northeast alley.
The Calgary Sun reports the judge in the case ruled the senior’s evidence was not credible while the officer’s actions were reasonable within the scope of his duties and the circumstances of the case.
