Trial for Bolsa Restaurant shooting underway with tight security

The trial is underway for two of three men charged in a triple killing at a southeast restaurant New Year’s Day.
On January 1, 2009 three masked gunmen walked into the Bolsa Vietnamese Restaurant and opened fire killing Sanjeev Mann and Aaron Bendle, who police believe both had gang ties.
43-year-old construction worker Keni Su’a, who was later determined to be an innocent bystander, was also gunned down in the parking lot as he tried to run for his life.
Nathan Zuccherato and Michael Roberto both pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder.
A publication ban has been issued to cover all pre-trial evidence and that’s expected to last about two weeks.
Security is expected to be tough for the entire trial in light of the gang involvement at the centre of the case.
