Alex Ovechkin makes a change

One of the world’s most popular hockey players will be wearing Bauer gear this season.

Washington Capitals captain, Alex Ovechkin, made the announcement Tuesday afternoon at a media conference.

Ovechkin is considered one of the most exciting players in hockey, earning the Hart trophy as league MVP twice in his six year career.

He will be featured in Bauer Hockey’s global advertising efforts, including the soon-to-be unveiled Bauer Vapor APX stick campaign.

Ovechkin is joining the likes of Steven Stamkos, Eric Staal, Ryan Kesler and Jonathan Toews.

Bauer is hoping that Ovechkin will make an impact overseas, especially in Russia, the superstar’s home country.
