Amber Alert issued for missing 3-year-old boy in Sparwood, B.C.

An Amber Alert has been issued for a three-year-old boy police say may be with 47-year-old Randall Hopley, who who could be driving a brown 1987 Toyota Camry, BC license plate 098RAL.

Kienan Hebert was last seen in his home in Sparwood, a small community about 600 kilometres east of Vancouver, when his family put him to bed Tuesday evening.

By Wednesday morning, he was gone, prompting an air and ground search of the surrounding area.

“The family reported that they had put the child to bed the previous evening and then around 8:30 a.m. this morning checked on the child to get him up for the day and the child was not in bed where he should be.”” said Cpl. Dan Moskaluk.

Ground searchers and a police dog were looking for the boy while a helicopter searched from the air. By mid-afternoon on Wednesday, there was still no sign of him, said Moskaluk.

“The first priority is the search for the child, with investigators continuing to speak with the family and making inquiries in the community,” he said.

The RCMP said the boy has strawberry blond hair and was wearing “Scooby Doo” boxer shorts.
