Man dies rock climbing near Canmore

A 27-year-old man, originally from Japan, has died while rock climbing near Canmore.
At about 10 a.m. Thursday, Canmore RCMP were called to Mount Yamnuska, just east of Highway 1X.
Police say the man was free climbing alone Wednesday morning, and at some point fell and died from his injuries.
The man was well known in the Canmore climbing community.
His name will be withheld until his next of kin is notified.
