Pine Beetle discussion at Memorial Park

People who are interested in learning more about the insect that has ravaged forests across Western North American over the past decade are invited to the Memorial Park Library Thursday, starting at 7 p.m.
Author Andrew Nikiforuk will head a discussion about his new book “Empire of the Beetle”.
Nikiforuk believes the event is as important to Western North America as Hurricane Katrina was to Louisiana.
He says the Pine Beetle is on it’s way out, but there are other beetles that will soon replace it.
