Americans say thank you to Calgary

Calgary’s U.S. Consul-General is marking the 10 year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks by thanking Calgarians for their response on that day.
Friday, a plaque of gratitude and remembrance was unveiled at the Calgary International Airport.
Laura Lochman says this is a gift of thanks to airport staffers for the tremendous assistance they provided on and in the aftermath of the terror attacks.
“They welcomed 12 planes with over 2,100 stranded passengers who couldn’t land in the U.S.,” she says.
Adding, “They provided them assistance, comfort, food and water and helped them find places to stay.”
Lochman says Canadians and Americans reaffirm everyday our common commitment to peace and security.
