2nd annual CE Franklin 3 on 3 Challenge

The second annual CE Franklin 3 on 3 Challenge kicks on Saturday from 7a.m. till
5 p.m. at the Don Hartman North East Sportsplex.

The tournament is in support of Calgary Health Trust to raise money that will enhance equipment in Neonatal Intensive Care Units at the Foothills Medical Centre, Peter Lougheed Centre and Rockyview General Hospital.

Former Flame and celebrity chair Craig Conroy tells 660News why the cause is so important to him.

“My sister in-law had a premature baby and to see how he has grown, now he is 7 years-old and perfect but without all the incubators and all the other stuff, who knows what would have happened.”

He adds, “There is a huge need for incubators and other stuff for all the premature kids. When there are so many people who need it, you want to make sure all that stuff is there to ensure everyone is going to be fine.”

As for his game plan, Conroy says, “Im going to see what one team is the best and jump on that team…”

Last year $155,000 was raised for NICU’s in Calgary.

It’s a family friendly event, where admission is free.

A KidsZone will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
