B.C. toddler’s dad not happy with justice system

Kienan Hebert’s father is criticizing the justice system, while defending the RCMP’s response to the boy’s disappearance from his home in Sparwood, B.C.
Paul Hebert says the courts should have been tougher on Randall Hopley, the convicted sex offender who is alleged to have taken his son.
Hebert told The Calgary Herald, “Hopley was taken in because he had a problem and he had a record having a problem. Now Hopley is out for a reason. Because someone didn’t do their job right, and it was not the police.”
Hopley added, “The judges and the system failed us. Hopley needs help and the system didn’t give him the help he needed, and because of that, we have been affected. Our rights have been taken away and our family got hurt.”
The three-year-old boy was returned to his home early Sunday, four days after he vanished.
Police are still looking for 46-year-old suspect.
