Ground Zero opens to public for first time

For the first time, the general public will be able to walk on the ground where the twin towers fell.
To get into the National Memorial site at Ground Zero you need a ticket.
Thousands have tried to get one and failed, including Paula from Timmins, Ontario.
“I don’t really need to see it as long as I’m here with the people,” she said.
The tickets are sold out for weeks, if not months in advance.
Paulette has one for Monday, the opening day, making her one of the first members of the general public to walk on what’s considered sacred ground.
“I’m sure there’s a whole different feeling and aura and spiritualness about the inside. I’m moved and humbled,” said Paulette.
The heart of the site features two pools fed by waterfalls that are said to sound like a whisper that drowns out the noise of the City.
