Mountie assaulted in Sylvan Lake

A Mountie in Sylvan Lake was jumped while trying to stop a vicious assault.

The RCMP officer, called to Lakeshore Drive on Sunday, found an injured man being kicked in the head; when he went to arrest the suspect, two other men attacked him.

The officer managed to pull out his pepper spray to break up the attack.

Thanks to the help of witnesses and one member of the public who came to the officer’s aid, all three perpetrators were arrested.

Two are a father and son from Sylvan Lake and the third is a Calgary man.
