City releases new pathways mobile application

The City of Calgary has released a new pathways and bikeways mobile application today to help Calgarians get around the city using alternative transportation methods.
The “App” features a pathways and bikeways map with a few additions including detours and closures, safety messages, information about parks and links to Twitter and Facebook.
The city says it provides a convenient and readily accessible option to access pathway and bikeway information, in addition to the city’s hardcopy and online versions of the map.
The new “App” is mainly based on the 2009-2011 pathways and bikeways map but a new version with even more features is in the works.
