Raj Sherman sets the course

The newly elected leader of the Alberta Liberals held court in Calgary for the first time on Tuesday.
Raj Sherman told reporters gathered at the party’s headquarters that his focus is now on the party and the province.
He says the province isn’t reaching its full potential. “Oil has being selling between 85 and 100 dollars per barrel and yet we have deficit. Can you believe this? That’s a problem,” said Sherman.
Sherman also says with former leader David Swann as his future health minister, his party could fix what he calls Alberta’s healthcare problem within two years.
He says his priority now is to unify the party, identify candidates, secure funding and start door knocking before the next provincial election.
