Albertans anxious about debt

Albertans are the most pessimistic and most likely to put off or cancel plans over fears about their personal debt situation compared to other Canadians.

A new RBC debt poll shows 36 per cent of Albertans are anxious about what they owe; that’s the highest in the country.

The poll also shows Albertans are most likely to take control of their debt, with 28 per cent willing to delay or cancel plans to take a vacation, versus just 24 per cent nationally.

Albertans are also more likely to delay buying a new home, retiring from working full time, and having children if they think their finances are in trouble.
