One arrested in S.E. stabbing

Calgary police have arrested a man in connection to a stabbing in the city’s southeast early Friday morning.

Officers were called to a home in the 2400 block of 36th Street just after 5 AM to find a man suffering from multiple stab wounds and head injuries.

Acting Duty Inspector Paul Malchow says the victim, whose in his thirties, was rushed to Foothills Hospital in critical condition.

“Since then his condition has been improved from critical to serious,” he says. “And shortly afterwards officers were able to make an arrest.”

Malchow says charges at this point are unclear and the suspect is being held for questioning.

It’s unclear as to whether the victim or the suspect even live inside the home.

The investigation is being conducted by 4 District General Investigation Unit.
